Usually fishing villages is identical to seedy atmosphere and a little dirty, but slightly in contrast to Wuring fishing village in Maumere, Flores. Fishy smell is there, but the water is so clear, even transparent.
Like the fishing villages, most fishermen in Wuring depend to catch fish in the sea. In the morning, the fishermen had to fish for fishing or clean the nets. Looks some kids swim in the sea.
Interestingly, the fishermen in Wuring built like a house on stilts. All houses are propped up by bamboo anchored to the shores of the sea. Beside for being the foundation of the house, bamboo is also used to connect each house to the main road.
